Job Title: Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for production planning and overseeing the manufacturing process of food and beverage products, ensuring productivity, quality, and compliance with food safety standards. The role involves managing production schedules, optimizing operational efficiency, leading production teams, and ensuring the facility meets production schedules with consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Planning and Execution Collaborate with SC Planner and Develop daily & weekly production plans. Ensure timely production of products while meeting quantity, quality, and costs. Allocate resources efficiently (labour, raw materials etc) to meet production KPIs.

2. Quality Control & Food Safety Enforce quality assurance protocols aligned with FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, and other regulatory standards. Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure continuous adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action for non-conformances or product recalls.

1. Team Leadership and Training Manage and motivate production line staff, supervisors, and shift in-charges. Conduct regular training for staff on SOPs, safety protocols, GMP, and personal hygiene practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.

Equipment & Facility Management Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of production equipment and machinery. Plan and oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance in coordination with the engineering team. Optimize plant layout and workflows to reduce downtime and enhance throughput.

1. Operational Efficiency & Cost Control Ensure compliance with SOP and Transactional integrity and reporting with ERP Monitor productivity metrics (OEE, line efficiency, waste levels, downtime). Implement lean manufacturing & Kaizen practices to improve yield. Control operational costs by minimizing rework, scrap, and utility consumption.
2. Compliance & Documentation Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance with labour laws, safety norms, and food safety regulations.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering. MBA or Diploma in Operations Management is advantageous. 5–10 years in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity. Preferred Industry Background: Packaged Foods Manufacturing Dairy, Beverages, or Bakery Units FMCG Food Processing Units Frozen or Ready-to-Eat Food Plants Nutraceutical or Functional Beverage Plants
