Role & responsibilities The PPC Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring and controlling production activities to ensure timely completion of customer orders while optimising manpower, machine capacity and material availability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer requirements and available capacity.

2. Create and monitor production orders and schedules in SAP.

3. Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Design and Dispatch for smooth production flow.

4. Check material availability and identify shortages before production commencement.

5. Monitor machine and manpower capacity and plan production accordingly.

6. Track production progress against planned quantities and delivery schedules.

7. Identify production delays, bottlenecks and capacity constraints.

8. Monitor WIP and ensure timely movement of materials between processes.

9. Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely availability of raw materials and bought-out components.

10. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly PPC reports.

11. Analyse plan vs. actual production and identify reasons for deviations.

12. Maintain and monitor BOMs, routings, production orders and manufacturing lead times in SAP.

13. Coordinate priority orders and delivery commitments with Sales and Production.

14. Ensure accuracy and timely updating of PPC data in SAP.

15. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce production lead times and improve machine and manpower utilisation.

Provide management with production MIS, capacity reports and other planning-related information.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification:

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Experience Required:

- 35 years of relevant experience in Production Planning & Control in a manufacturing environment.

- Experience in machine-shop and assembly manufacturing preferred.

- Prior experience working with SAP/ERP-based production planning is required.

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).

- Production scheduling and capacity planning.

- Material Requirement Planning (MRP).

- Knowledge of BOM, routing and production orders.

- Working knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA.

- Knowledge of SAP PP/MM modules preferred.

- Production order creation, monitoring and closure.

- Inventory and material availability planning.

- Good knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.

- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC, VMC, turning, milling, grinding, fabrication and assembly preferred.

Other Requirements:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Ability to coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Design, Sales and Dispatch.

- Ability to work under production deadlines.

- Positive understanding of shop-floor operations and manufacturing lead times.
