Job Summary
We are looking for experienced professionals in Refinery Planning & Scheduling with strong expertise in Linear Programming (LP), refinery optimization, planning/scheduling tools, and refinery process operations.
The candidate will play a lead role in understanding client requirements, designing and implementing refinery planning and scheduling solutions, and leading a team to deliver solutions aligned with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end implementation of Refinery Planning & Scheduling solutions at customer sites.
- Understand client requirements and drive functional and technical solution design.
- Lead and mentor a team of experienced and junior consultants/engineers.
- Develop, maintain, and update multi-period, multi-plant Linear Programming (LP) models.
- Perform feedstock ranking / crude indifference analysis.
- Work on rolling plans and back-casting.
- Conduct configuration selection and refinery plant debottlenecking studies.
- Optimize refinery operations considering feedstock availability, product demand, unit constraints, yields, quality specifications, and economics.
- Support refinery planning and scheduling model development, validation, and implementation.
- Design and support the network/system architecture required for planning solution deployment.
- Work closely with refinery/process/operations teams to understand requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Drive project delivery from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, commissioning, and customer handover.
Mandatory Skills
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Chemical Engineering – Mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Linear Programming (LP) – Mandatory.
- Strong understanding of refinery processes and operations.
- Hands-on experience in Refinery Planning and/or Scheduling.
- Experience in refinery optimization and LP model development.
- Good understanding of refinery economics, crude/feedstock optimization, production planning, blending, and unit constraints.
Refinery Planning Tools Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
- Honeywell RPMS
- Aspen PIMS
- Haverly GRTMPS
- Spiral
Refinery Scheduling Tools Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
- Aspen Petroleum Scheduler (APS)
- MBO
- Dock Scheduling
- Plant Scheduler (PS-EO)
- Haverly H-Sched
- Spiral Schedule
- Honeywell Production Scheduler
Additional Skills – Good to Have

Candidate Profile
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to lead teams and independently drive projects.
- Strong understanding of both business and technical requirements.
- Experience working directly with refinery/plant stakeholders will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
