Position Summary

We are seeking an organized, hands-on, and detail-oriented Operations manager to oversee the packaging, warehousing, order fulfilment, and shipping operations for our guitar strings manufacturing business.

The ideal candidate will ensure that finished guitar strings are packaged accurately, safely, efficiently, and according to customer and product specifications. This role will coordinate daily shipments, manage packaging materials and inventory, supervise warehouse and packing personnel, maintain shipping documentation, and work closely with Production, Sales, Quality Control, and Purchasing teams.

The successful candidate will have strong organizational and leadership skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Operations

- Manage daily packaging operations for guitar strings and related products.
- Ensure products are packaged according to product specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
- Maintain consistent packaging quality, labelling, barcoding, and presentation.
- Develop and improve packaging procedures to increase efficiency and reduce material waste.
- Ensure correct quantities, gauges, sets, SKUs, labels, and packaging are used for every product.
- Identify and resolve packaging errors, damaged products, labelling issues, and other discrepancies.

Shipping & Order Fulfilment

- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of domestic and international customer orders.
- Plan and coordinate daily shipments based on customer requirements and shipping deadlines.
- Prepare shipping documents, packing lists, invoices, labels, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with courier, freight, and logistics providers to arrange pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and proactively address delays, damages, shortages, or delivery issues.
- Ensure export shipments comply with applicable documentation and shipping requirements.
- Verify shipping quantities and product details before orders leave the facility.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

- Maintain accurate inventory of finished goods and packaging materials.




- Monitor stock levels of boxes, pouches, envelopes, labels, cartons, inserts, and other packaging supplies.
- Coordinate replenishment of packaging materials with the Purchasing team.
- Maintain an organized and efficient finished-goods warehouse.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Establish appropriate storage and handling practices to prevent product damage.
- Ensure finished goods are properly identified, stored, and easily accessible for order fulfilment.

Team Management

- Supervise, train, and support packaging and shipping personnel.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity and accuracy.
- Establish clear work standards and ensure employees follow company procedures.
- Train team members on packaging specifications, quality requirements, safety practices, and shipping procedures.
- Address performance issues and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Quality & Process Improvement

- Work closely with Quality Control to maintain packaging and shipping accuracy.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators such as:

- Order accuracy
- On-time shipment rate

- Packaging productivity

- Shipping errors

- Material usage and waste

- Inventory accuracy
- Investigate recurring errors and implement corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and standard operating procedures for packaging and shipping activities.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure the packaging and shipping areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
- Ensure employees use equipment and tools appropriately.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable shipping, workplace, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or consumer-products environment strongly preferred.




- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with inventory, warehouse, shipping, or ERP systems.
- Comfortable using computers and standard office software.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Sales, Purchasing, and Logistics teams.
- Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing/warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with guitar strings, musical instruments, accessories, or other precision-manufactured consumer products.
- Experience with domestic and international shipping.
- Familiarity with ERP, inventory management, barcode, and shipping software.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or other process-improvement practices.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, labelling, and product presentation.
- Experience managing high-volume SKU environments.
