Role & responsibilities :
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the pre-opening and day-to-day operations of Gautam Vihar, a 40-room retreat at Veerayatan (an internationally renowned NGO), Palitana. The property set to be launched shortly, will include a dining hall offering Jain food, large, landscaped gardens and will cater to leisure guests, groups and pilgrims.
The quality of accommodation matches a four star property.
The ideal candidate should have solid operational expertise, excellent guest-handling skills, and the ability to manage a property while ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with Jain traditions, values, and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the overall pre-opening and complete operations of the retreat.
- Manage Front Office, Housekeeping, Dining Hall, Maintenance, Security, and other operational functions.
- Plan and coordinate group bookings, functions, and special events in coordination with the teams concerned.
- Develop and implement SOPs, operational checklists, service standards, and systems for the new property.
- Ensure the dining hall operates in accordance with Jain dietary principles.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate the operational team.
- Ensure high standards of guest satisfaction, cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and service quality.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and external agencies for smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory, operational expenses, and departmental budgets while maintaining cost efficiency and submit daily and monthly MIS reports.

Preferred candidate profile :
- Minimum 58 years of relevant experience in hotel, resort, guest house, or hospitality operations.
- Prior experience in pre-opening, event, banquet, wedding, or group operations will be an advantage.
- Well versed with Front Office, Housekeeping and F&B; operations.
- Excellent leadership, team-management, communication, and guest-handling skills.
- Ability to independently manage a property and take ownership of operational responsibilities.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and coordination abilities.
- Experience in maintaining service standards while controlling operational costs.
- Candidates with experience in spiritual/religious hospitality or properties following specific dietary/cultural practices will be preferred.
- Should have a respectful understanding of and willingness to work in accordance with Jain traditions and practices.
Note:
- Staff accommodation for the Operations Manager will be provided within the retreat campus.
- Knowledge of Hindi and Gujarati will be added advantage.
