Key Responsibilities

- Perform 18F-FDG PET-CT procedures according to established protocols and physician instructions.
- Receive, verify, handle, store, and document 18F-FDG radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with radiation-safety and regulatory requirements.
- Check patient identity, clinical indication, preparation status, blood glucose level, and relevant history before FDG administration.
- Administer the prescribed 18F-FDG dose using appropriate radiation-safety precautions.
- Ensure appropriate FDG uptake/resting period and patient positioning before PET-CT acquisition.
- Operate PET-CT equipment and perform whole-body and dedicated PET-CT studies as per protocol.
- Perform appropriate CT acquisition for attenuation correction and diagnostic purposes as authorized by departmental protocols.
- Monitor patients during the uptake and imaging process and identify/report any adverse events.
- Ensure proper patient preparation, including fasting and blood-glucose management as per departmental protocol.
- Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical receipt, activity, administration, residual activity, and radioactive waste.




- Follow ALARA principles and all applicable radiation-protection procedures.
- Perform daily/routine PET-CT quality-control checks and escalate equipment abnormalities to the appropriate service team.
- Maintain radiation-monitoring records, contamination-control procedures, and departmental safety documentation.
- Ensure appropriate segregation and disposal/storage of radioactive waste.
- Coordinate with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, radiochemists/radiopharmacists, nurses, and other clinical staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, departmental SOPs, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in audits, quality-improvement activities, emergency preparedness, and staff training.
