Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Microbiologist (MD/DNB Microbiology) with 5–6 years of relevant experience to oversee microbiology laboratory operations, ensure accurate and timely reporting, maintain quality standards, and provide clinical guidance related to infectious diseases and antimicrobial therapy.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage day-to-day microbiology laboratory operations.
- Perform and/or oversee processing and interpretation of clinical specimens including blood, urine, sputum, pus, swabs, body fluids, and other samples.
- Review and validate microbiology reports before release.
- Interpret culture and sensitivity reports and provide clinical inputs to treating physicians.
- Monitor infection-control practices and provide microbiological support to the Infection Control Committee.
- Identify and investigate unusual or significant microbiological findings and outbreaks.
- Ensure proper maintenance, calibration,



and functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Train and supervise laboratory technicians and junior staff.
- Stay updated with current microbiology guidelines, diagnostic methods, and antimicrobial resistance patterns.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.
- Expertise in culture, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
- Good understanding of antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

Eligibility
- MD/DNB in Microbiology from a recognized institution.
- 5–6 years of relevant post-qualification experience preferred.
- Candidates with experience in a hospital, diagnostic laboratory, or multispecialty healthcare setup will be preferred.
- Valid medical registration as applicable.
