Job summary
We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join Care & Cure Home Health Care Services in Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram. The selected candidate will be responsible for collecting blood and other patient samples, particularly during home visits, ensuring proper sample handling and documentation, maintaining accurate patient records, and following laboratory safety and infection-control procedures. The role requires good technical skills, attention to detail, skilled communication, and a patient-friendly approach.
The candidate will work closely with the medical and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services.
Key responsibility
- Collect blood and other clinical samples from patients, including home visits when required.
- Perform routine laboratory tests accurately according to established procedures.
- Properly label, handle, store, and transport patient samples to maintain sample integrity.
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Record and document test results accurately and maintain patient records.
- Follow laboratory quality-control procedures and infection-control protocols.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste according to safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses,
and other healthcare staff regarding laboratory investigations and reports.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with patients during sample collection and related procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory reports.
- Ensure timely processing and reporting of laboratory results.
- Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and inform the concerned team when stock needs replenishment.
Qualification
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT).
- Valid certification/registration as applicable for the role.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or diagnostic centre is preferred.
- Experience in phlebotomy and blood/sample collection is an advantage.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and basic diagnostic tests.
- Good understanding of laboratory safety, hygiene, and infection-control practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a healthcare team.
- Willingness to travel for home sample collection when required.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
Pay: From ₹8,000.00 per month
