To provide comprehensive, safe, ethical, and patient-centered medical services in the respective speciality of Orthopaedics, General Surgery, or Paediatrics, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, procedures, emergency care, follow-up, and coordination with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Examine and assess patients in OPD, IPD, emergency, and other clinical areas.

2. Obtain detailed medical history and conduct appropriate physical examinations.

3. Diagnose medical and surgical conditions within the respective specialty.

4. Develop and implement appropriate treatment and management plans.

5. Order and interpret relevant laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic investigations.

6. Provide appropriate consultation and referral to other specialities whenever required.

7. Manage emergency and critical cases within the scope of professional expertise.

8. Conduct regular ward rounds and monitor admitted patients.

9. Perform/supervise relevant medical, surgical, and clinical procedures as per qualification, competence, and institutional authorisation.

10. Provide appropriate preoperative and postoperative care for surgical patients.

11. Monitor treatment response and modify treatment plans when clinically indicated.

12. Explain diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and prognosis to patients and their relatives.

13. Obtain appropriate informed consent before procedures or surgeries.

14. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient records, case sheets, operative notes, and discharge summaries.

Ensure proper documentation of diagnosis, treatment, investigations, and follow-up.

16. Coordinate with nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, physiotherapy, anaesthesia, and other clinical departments.

17. Follow hospital protocols relating to infection prevention, patient safety, biomedical waste management, and clinical care.

18. Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, morbidity/mortality reviews, audits, and quality-improvement activities.

19. Support teaching, training, and mentoring of interns, residents, students, and junior medical staff, wherever applicable.

20. Participate in CME programmes, academic activities, and career development initiatives.

21. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with professional ethics.

22. Ensure compliance with applicable medical regulations, hospital policies, and institutional procedures.

23. Participate in health camps, outreach programmes, and other institutional clinical activities as assigned.

24. Perform any other clinical responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department/Medical Superintendent. Role & responsibilities

Preferred candidate profile

- MBBS from a recognised institution.

- Relevant postgraduate qualifications such as MD/MS/DNB or equivalent in the concerned speciality, as applicable.

- Valid registration with the appropriate medical regulatory authority.

- Qualification and registration must comply with applicable statutory and institutional requirements.
