Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to manage, support, automate, and continuously improve our Linux infrastructure across on-premises and AWS environments. This role requires strong Linux architecture knowledge, proactive problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023), Ansible, Rundeck, AWS, storage, DNS, and user authentication.

Key Responsibilities· Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux servers, including RHEL and Amazon Linux 2023.

· Manage Linux workloads and supporting infrastructure in AWS.

· Monitor server availability, performance, capacity, security, and compliance.

· Design, provision, and manage storage required by Linux servers.

· Manage file systems, LVM, mounts, permissions, NFS, SAN/NAS storage, and storage capacity.

· Manage DNS configurations and troubleshoot name-resolution issues.

· Administer Linux users, groups, permissions, sudo access, and authentication services.

· Support centralized authentication using Active Directory, LDAP, and SSSD.

· Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and automation workflows.

· Use Rundeck to schedule and orchestrate operational tasks, deployments, patching, and maintenance activities.

· Understand the Linux and AWS architecture, including system dependencies and integrations.

· Proactively identify risks, recurring issues, capacity constraints, and performance bottlenecks.

· Lead root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.

· Improve Linux architecture, reliability, security, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.





· Automate repetitive administrative tasks using Ansible, Rundeck, Bash, or Python.

· Maintain architecture diagrams, configuration standards, runbooks, and recovery procedures.

· Collaborate with application, database, network, security, cloud, and storage teams.

· Participate in incident response, change management, upgrades, migrations, and disaster-recovery testing.

· Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership.

Required Qualifications· Extensive experience administering enterprise Linux environments.

· Strong hands-on experience with RHEL and Amazon Linux 2023.

· Strong understanding of Linux architecture, boot processes, systemd, services, processes, networking, and file systems.

· Experience with AWS services relevant to Linux administration, including EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, and Route 53.

· Experience with AWS security groups, IAM roles, instance profiles, AMIs, snapshots, and backup and recovery processes.

· Robust experience with Ansible, including playbooks, roles, inventories, variables, templates, and Ansible Vault.

· Hands-on experience with Rundeck job creation, scheduling, access control, logging, and workflow automation.

· Experience managing LVM, NFS, SAN/NAS storage, multipathing, file systems, and disk capacity.





· Experience managing DNS and troubleshooting DNS-related issues.

· Experience with Linux authentication and authorization using sudo, SSSD, LDAP, and Active Directory integration.

· Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, AWS, storage, networking, authentication, and application dependencies.

· Experience with Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation, patching, and access controls.

· Scripting experience using Bash, Python, or similar languages.

· Ability to independently manage priorities, proactively identify issues, and drive problems through resolution.

· Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications· Experience designing and supporting highly available, scalable, and business-critical Linux environments.

· Experience migrating workloads from older Linux distributions to RHEL or Amazon Linux 2023.

· Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.

· Experience with monitoring and log-management platforms such as CloudWatch and Datadog.

· Experience with backup, disaster recovery, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

· Familiarity with ITIL practices, incident management, problem management, and change control.

· AWS and Linux certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, RHCSA, or RHCE.

Work Schedule· Monday through Friday

· 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Central Time

Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required for production incidents and scheduled maintenance
