Senior Financial Controller

8+ years experience and 5 years of Finance Control experience

Position Summary The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the company's finance function. The role combines operational accounting, financial control, compliance and process optimisation within a growing international scale-up. The position requires a proactive, hands on professional who works independently, takes ownership and continuously improves the finance organisation.

Financial Administration:

- Manage the complete financial administration for multiple legal entities.
- Perform and supervise daily bookkeeping activities.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Execute and control payment runs.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and complete financial records.

Financial Reporting:

- Prepare monthly Profit &
- Loss statements.
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain General Ledger integrity.
- Support budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Prepare financial analyses when required.

Tax &

- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Dutch tax legislation.
- Prepare and review VAT-related documentation.
- Coordinate tax filings with external advisors.
- Support statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations.

International Trade

- Support financial processes related to import and export activities.
- Ensure correct accounting treatment of international transactions.
- Monitor VAT implications of international trade.
- Support logistics-related financial processes.

Financial Process Improvement

- Analyse existing financial processes.
- Develop and implement improvements.
- Standardise finance procedures.
- Improve internal controls.




- Increase efficiency through automation where possible.
- Develop scalable finance processes suitable for company growth.

External Stakeholder Management

- Maintain relationships with accountants, tax advisors, payroll providers, banks, auditors and authorities.
- Evaluate external service providers and recommend improvements.

Finance Systems

- Become the key user of Yuki.
- Maintain and improve finance system usage.
- Support future system improvements and integrations.
- Ensure data integrity across financial systems.

Initial Responsibilities (First 3 Months)

- Take over the complete finance function.
- Understand existing financial processes.
- Optimise Yuki usage.
- Review FY2025 financial administration.
- Validate bookkeeping quality.
- Review collaboration with 100digitaal.
- Present a Finance Health Report.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- CA / CMA qualification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of Financial Control/Accounting experience.
- Experience managing multiple legal entities.
- International business experience.
- ERP/accounting systems experience.
- Yuki experience.
- International trade &
- VAT experience is an advantage.
