M Group Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our growing Overhead Lines (OHL) Design team in Pune, India. This is a key technical role responsible for leading the development of high-quality, compliant, and productive OHL design solutions while supporting clients and project teams through complex engineering challenges. /n /n The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in overhead line design, advanced analytical capability, and the ability to lead design delivery across multiple projects. /n /n Key Responsibilities /n /n Technical Leadership & Design Delivery /n /n

- Support Design Leads and clients in solving complex Overhead Line engineering issues.

/n

- Lead the development of OHL design solutions, including line design calculations, assessments, reports, line profiles, string drawings, spacer damper schedules, and sag-tension studies.

/n

- Perform and verify engineering calculations using industry-standard software and manual methods where required.

/n

- Provide expert technical guidance on complex engineering challenges and support design optimisation.

/n

- Ensure all design deliverables are completed to the required quality, safety, and programme standards.

/n

- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.

- Undertake and check technical work to ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.

- Apply governance processes, technical reviews, and assurance procedures throughout the design lifecycle.

/n

- Promote continuous improvement, innovation,



and best practice within the design team.

- Interpret site constraints and operational requirements to develop practical engineering solutions.

/n

- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, delivery teams, subcontractors, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated project delivery.

- Provide technical support throughout project execution

/n /n /n What You'll Bring /n Essential /n /n

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering.

/n

- Minimum 6 years' experience in Overhead Line Design.

/n

- Expert knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-TOWER software.

/n

- Strong understanding of overhead line towers, conductors, insulators, fittings, and associated design standards.

/n

- Proven experience producing construction-ready OHL design outputs.

/n

- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

- Chartered Engineer (IMechE, ICE, or IStructE) or working towards chartership.

/n

- Experience supporting feasibility studies, optioneering, and design justification activities.

/n

- Familiarity with National Grid, SPEN, SSE, BSI, ENA, and other relevant industry standards.
