An Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving electrical systems and equipment for industries such as construction, manufacturing, power, automation, automotive, and electronics.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Design electrical systems, control panels, wiring layouts, and schematics.

- Prepare electrical drawings using CAD software (such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN Electric P8).

- Create single-line diagrams (SLDs), circuit diagrams, and cable schedules.

- Select electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, relays, cables, and motors.

- Perform electrical load calculations and sizing of cables, panels, and protection devices.

- Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.

- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, procurement, and project teams.

- Review and update design documents based on project requirements.

- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

- Prepare technical documentation, BOM (Bill of Materials), and project reports.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.

- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical,



EPLAN Electric P8, ETAP, Dialux evo).

- Understanding of electrical standards such as International Electrotechnical Commission, National Fire Protection Association, and local regulations.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

- Experience with electrical design tools and engineering calculations.

- Knowledge of industrial automation or power distribution is often preferred.
