Role Description The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms to support analytics and AI initiatives across BU Soft Tech’s client engagements. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and involves collaborating closely with data scientists, architects, and application teams to develop robust data models, optimize ETL processes, and ensure data quality and reliability.

Daily responsibilities include implementing data warehousing solutions, managing data integration from multiple sources, and monitoring performance and security of data systems.

Engineer will also contribute to solution design, documentation, best practices, and mentoring junior engineers, while aligning implementations with business requirements and architectural standards.

Qualifications

- Solid data engineering skills, including Data Engineering and Data Warehousing, with experience building scalable, production-grade data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Data Modeling and Extract Transform Load (ETL) design and implementation, with the ability to optimize performance and reliability.
- Experience in Data Analytics, with the ability to translate business needs into data solutions that enable reporting, insights, and advanced analytics.
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and tools (e.g., SQL/NoSQL databases, big data frameworks, cloud data services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for data engineering (such as Python, Scala, or Java) and experience with version control and CI/CD.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and best practices for managing large-scale, distributed data systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field, and several years of relevant industry experience.
