Senior Cloud Architect Azure / AWS

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect with deep hands-on expertise in designing and implementing cloud-native architectures across Azure and AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering depth in distributed systems, cloud networking, security, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and reliability engineering, along with the ability to lead complex cloud transformation initiatives.

The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can define enterprise architecture standards, build scalable and secure cloud platforms, solve complex production challenges, and guide engineering teams on modern cloud-native practices.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Solution Architecture

- Design and implement cloud-native, microservices-based architectures using containers and serverless patterns.
- Architect event-driven and distributed systems using Kafka, Azure Event Hub, SNS/SQS, and similar technologies.
- Define reusable reference architectures, design patterns, and engineering standards.
- Apply API-first and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles where appropriate.
- Design highly available, multi-region architectures with disaster recovery strategies aligned to business-defined RPO/RTO requirements.
- Evaluate technology choices based on scalability, performance, security, reliability, and cost.

Cloud Platform Engineering
- Design and implement enterprise cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Compute: Azure VMSS, AWS EC2, Azure App Service
- Containers: AKS, EKS, GKE
- Storage: Azure Blob Storage, Amazon S3
- Databases: Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB,



SQL/NoSQL platforms
- Networking: VNet/VPC, subnets, NSGs/security groups, DNS, load balancers, API gateways
- Private connectivity: Private Endpoints, Private Link
- Design and implement secure cloud landing zones and enterprise-scale cloud environments.
- Establish cloud platform standards, governance, scalability, and operational best practices.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform as a primary Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technology.
- Experience with Bicep, ARM Templates, and/or CloudFormation.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and standardized infrastructure patterns.
- Implement GitOps-based infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and/or Jenkins.
- Automate workplace provisioning, configuration, scaling, patching, and operational processes.
- Implement automation using Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash.

Kubernetes & Container Engineering
- Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kubernetes platforms, preferably AKS/EKS.
- Develop and manage Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests.
- Implement ingress controllers and Kubernetes networking patterns.
- Hands-on experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.
- Configure and optimize Horizontal Pod Autoscaling, cluster autoscaling, and workload scaling.
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes performance, networking, availability, and resource utilization issues.
- Implement container security practices including image scanning, vulnerability management, and runtime security policies.

Cloud Security & Network Architecture
- Design and implement Zero Trust security architectures.
- Implement IAM, RBAC, Managed Identities, and least-privilege access controls.
- Secure secrets and credentials using Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or equivalent solutions.
- Implement and integrate cloud security
