Lead and perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Reconcile freight, fuel, carrier, and fleet maintenance accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies with Operations and AP/AR teams

Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple terminals/locations

Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking of trucks, trailers, and equipment (additions, disposals, depreciation)

Support accounts payable/receivable teams with escalations and complex reconciliations

Assist with cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations

Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of close processes

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed





Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staffBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

4–7 years of progressive accounting experience; logistics, transportation, distribution, or supply chain industry experience strongly preferred

CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Strong working knowledge of GAAP

Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills

Experience with TMS (transportation management systems) or fleet management software a plus

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, AP/AR, and senior leadership

Experience in a multi-entity or multi-location accounting environment preferred
