SAP BO Developer

Job Title: SAP BO Developer

Experience: 3–8 years

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) Developer responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing business intelligence and reporting solutions. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with SAP BO tools, SQL, Universe development, report development, scheduling, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI) and related BO reporting tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain BusinessObjects Universes using Universe Design Tool / Information Design Tool.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into effective BI and reporting solutions.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Develop reports using filters, prompts, variables, formulas, sections, breaks, and drill-down functionality.
- Manage report scheduling, publication, bursting, and distribution through the SAP BO platform.
- Monitor and troubleshoot report failures, data issues, and performance problems.
- Perform report and universe optimization to improve query and report performance.
- Work with data warehouse, ETL, and database teams to resolve data-related issues.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Maintain technical documentation for reports, universes, data sources, and processes.
- Participate in migration/upgrades of SAP BusinessObjects environments when required.





Required Skills

- Solid hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects WebI.
- Experience developing Universes using IDT/UDT.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of dimensions, measures, contexts, joins, cardinality, prompts, and derived tables.
- Experience with BOE/CMC administration concepts such as users, groups, folders, security, schedules, and connections.
- Knowledge of report scheduling and publication.
- Good understanding of data warehousing and BI concepts.
- Experience in performance tuning of BO reports and SQL queries.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with SAP BW/HANA as a reporting data source.
- Knowledge of ETL tools and data warehouse concepts.
- Experience with SAP BO upgrades and migrations.
- Exposure to Crystal Reports.
- Experience integrating SAP BO with other BI/reporting platforms.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
