Position: Quality Control (QC) Engineer

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Location: Surat (Palsana)

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Engineer responsible for ensuring that manufactured components and assemblies meet defined quality standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering drawings, inspection methods, quality tools, and documentation while working closely with Production, Design, and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Quality Control

- Perform in-process, final, and incoming material inspections.
- Verify dimensions and specifications as per engineering drawings and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify defects and non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.

Engineering & Technical Knowledge

- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Understand and apply GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Conduct dimensional inspections using standard measuring instruments.
- Verify product conformity against approved drawings and specifications.

Quality Tools & Continuous Improvement

- Apply quality tools for defect analysis and process improvement, including:
- Check Sheets
- Flow Charts
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions)
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)




- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve process capability.

Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare and maintain:
- Inspection Reports
- Quality Check Sheets
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Control Plans
- Ensure proper traceability and document control.
- Support ISO 9001 quality management system requirements and audits.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Design, Purchase, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns effectively.
- Provide timely quality reports to management.

Required Skills Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Hands-on experience with inspection instruments:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.

Quality Knowledge

- ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Inspection planning and quality documentation.
- Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Process quality monitoring and continuous improvement methodologies.

Software Skills

- MS Excel (Mandatory)
- ERP Systems
- Basic knowledge of quality management software/tools.

Soft Skills

- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Teamwork and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.

Preferred Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in Quality Control within a CNC machine manufacturing, fabrication, or precision engineering environment.
- Freshers with robust technical knowledge and internship experience may also apply.
