Company Description MedGel Pvt Ltd is a leading manufacturer of soft gel OTC pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, operating a state-of-the-art facility with unique in-line drying technology that adheres to cGMP norms. The soft gel plant is designed to meet international regulatory standards and has an annual capacity of approximately 2.5 billion capsules. MedGel holds multiple accreditations, including USFDA, UL, NSF, WHO-GMP, and several ISO certifications covering quality, safety, food safety, and environmental management, as well as HALAL and NAFDAC approvals.
The company regularly supplies products to global markets such as the USA, UK, South East Asia, Africa, and other regions, offering team members exposure to international quality standards and compliance requirements.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site QC Chemist (HPLC) role based at MedGel’s manufacturing facility in Indore. The QC Chemist will perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using HPLC and other analytical techniques, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include preparing standards and reagents, executing analytical test methods, documenting results in laboratory records, and supporting investigations for out-of-specification or out-of-trend results. The role involves maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, following cGMP and safety procedures, and collaborating with production, QA, and regulatory teams to support continuous quality improvement.
The QC Chemist will also participate in method validation, stability studies, and audit readiness activities.
Qualifications
- Strong Quality Control knowledge, including familiarity with cGMP, GLP, and pharmaceutical or nutraceutical quality standards.
- Solid Laboratory Skills covering sample preparation, handling of chemical reagents, and secure laboratory practices.
- Developed Analytical Skills in HPLC operation and data interpretation, with experience in related techniques such as UV/Vis or GC being an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Laboratory Equipment, including HPLC systems, balances, pH meters, and other analytical instruments.
- Ability to perform Calibration and routine maintenance of analytical instruments in line with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in a QC laboratory within pharma or nutraceutical manufacturing is preferred.
- Proficiency in documentation, data integrity principles, and use of laboratory software or chromatography data systems.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work systematically under defined timelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional departments.
