– QA/QC Engineer – Crusher Plant
Position: QA/QC Engineer – Crusher Plant
Experience: 3–5+ Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Industry: Infrastructure / Aggregate / Crushing & Screening / Road Construction
Location: Crusher Plant / Project Site
Reporting To: Project Manager / QA/QC Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage overall QA/QC activities at the crushing and screening plant.
- Ensure production of aggregates as per approved specifications, required gradation and client/project requirements.
- Monitor quality of raw stone/rock material received for crushing.
- Conduct regular inspection and quality checks of:
- GSB
- WMM
- 40 mm aggregate
- 20 mm aggregate
- 10 mm aggregate
- Stone dust
- Manufactured sand, if applicable
- Other approved aggregate sizes
- Monitor gradation and particle size distribution of aggregates through sieve analysis.
- Conduct and maintain records of sieve analysis, flakiness & elongation, impact value, crushing value, abrasion value, water absorption, specific gravity and other required tests.
- Coordinate with approved/third-party laboratories for material testing and periodic quality verification.
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures for crushing, screening and stockpiling operations.
- Monitor crusher plant settings and coordinate with the Plant/Production team to achieve the required aggregate gradation.
- Inspect and control stockpiles to prevent contamination, segregation and mixing of different aggregate sizes.
- Ensure proper identification, stacking and traceability of materials.
- Check quality of materials before dispatch to the project/site.
- Prepare and maintain Material Test Reports (MTR), Test Certificates, Inspection Reports and Quality Records.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly QA/QC reports for aggregate production and testing.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved Quality Plan, ITP, method statements and relevant IS/MORTH specifications.
- Coordinate with client/consultant representatives for material approval and inspection.
- Handle and close NCRs, quality observations and client complaints related to aggregate quality.
- Investigate quality deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain proper records of test frequencies, test results, material approvals and laboratory reports.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment and testing instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.
- Assist in preparation and submission of aggregate source approval, mix/gradation proposals and material approval documents.
- Conduct periodic audits of the plant’s quality control and testing processes.
- Coordinate with Production, Plant, Planning, Dispatch and Project Execution teams to maintain consistent material quality.
- Ensure rejected/non-conforming material is properly segregated and controlled.
- Support the project team during client audits, quality inspections and material approval processes.

- Specific Gravity & Water Absorption
- Soundness Test
- Aggregate cleanliness and deleterious material checks
- GSB & WMM gradation requirements
- Proctor/OMC/MDD and field density testing, where applicable
- Material sampling procedures
- Stockpile management
- Crusher & screening process
- Quality control of manufactured aggregates
- IS 383, IS 2386 and relevant MORTH specifications
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of aggregate quality control and testing.
- Practical experience in crusher plant QA/QC is preferred.
- Ability to independently manage a site laboratory/plant laboratory.
- Good knowledge of IS Codes and MORTH specifications.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate with client, consultant, laboratory and production teams.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify the reason for gradation variation and quality deviations and coordinate corrective action.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
