Junior Python Backend Data Engineer

Role Description:

We are seeking a Junior Python Backend Data Engineer to support the development and maintenance of Python-based backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. The candidate will work closely with senior engineers to build reliable data processing workflows and cloud-based solutions on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs.
- Support development of RESTful APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Assist in building ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion and transformation.
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, files, and other data sources.
- Work with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Glue, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
- Support data validation, quality checks, logging, and error handling.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and assist with data modeling.
- Troubleshoot application and pipeline issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Write unit tests and contribute to code quality and documentation.




- Follow Git-based development and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and senior backend engineers.

Required Skill Set:

- 2–4 years of experience in Python/backend or data engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Python.
- Familiarity with FastAPI or similar Python backend frameworks.
- Understanding of REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Glue, and CloudWatch.
- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Experience with Git and basic CI/CD concepts.
- Understanding of data validation, logging, and debugging.
- Valuable communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
