About Us
Funfirst Global Skillers Pvt Ltd. designs and manufactures hands-on training simulators used by ITI institutes, polytechnics/diploma colleges and schools to teach practical, job-ready skills. Our current product range covers working and cutaway simulators for Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, Washing Machines, Electric Vehicles, Solar Power Systems and Televisions. As we expand our product portfolio, we are looking to add new simulators that help vocational students understand the basic working of critical components used across these product categories.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Simulator Development Engineer with a strong mechanical background to design, develop and industrialise new training simulators and cutaway/working models. The role involves breaking down complex electro-mechanical products into simple, safe and functional teaching aids that clearly demonstrate how their critical components work — supporting our expansion into new simulator product lines for ITI, diploma and school-level vocational training.
Key Responsibilities
- Study the construction and working of electro-mechanical products (compressors, condensers, motors, gearboxes, drums, EV powertrain parts, solar assemblies, display/electronic units, etc.) and translate them into simplified, functional training simulators.
- Conceptualise, design and detail new simulator/cutaway/sectional models in CAD (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo) that clearly reveal internal working for classroom demonstration.
- Develop prototypes end-to-end — from concept sketches and 3D models to fabrication drawings, BOMs and functional test rigs.
- Select appropriate materials and fabrication processes (sheet metal, machining, welding, fitting, painting) and coordinate with in-house teams and outside vendors/job-workers.
- Integrate mechanical assemblies with basic electrical/electronic controls, wiring, indicators and sensors needed for live demonstration of the simulator.
- Build, test and troubleshoot prototypes; iterate designs based on functional testing and feedback from trainers and technical faculty.
- Prepare technical documentation — drawings, BOMs, assembly and operating instructions, trainer/user manuals and safety guidelines.
- Ensure every simulator is protected, durable and ergonomically suited for repeated use by students in ITI/diploma/school labs.
- Work with the production team to scale designs from prototype to batch manufacturing, keeping cost and manufacturability in view.
- Track ITI/NCVT/NSDC/state board curricula and emerging technologies to identify and propose new simulator opportunities.
- Support product demonstrations and training sessions for the internal team, dealers and partner institutes as required.
- Map the learning outcomes with ITI and Polytechnic syllabus and also customise the same to international requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics or Production Engineering also considered).
- 2–5 years of experience in product design & development, machine building, or mechanical manufacturing — experience with educational/training equipment is a strong plus.
- Hands-on proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Creo for 3D modelling and detailed drawings.
- Solid understanding of mechanical components, fabrication processes, GD&T; and material selection.
- Working knowledge of the basic principles of refrigeration & air conditioning, washing machines, EV systems, solar power or consumer electronics (any of these is an advantage).
- Practical experience in prototype building, functional testing and design iteration.
- Ability to prepare clear technical drawings, BOMs and user/trainer documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and creative ability to simplify complex mechanisms into effective teaching tools.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with vendors, faculty/trainers and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn and work across new domains (EV, solar, electronics) as the product range expands.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Prior experience developing training simulators, teaching aids, lab equipment or demonstration models.
- Exposure to ITI/diploma/vocational training curricula (NCVT, NSDC or state skill development boards).
- Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits and control panel integration.
- Experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing or low-volume fabrication techniques.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to design products that directly shape practical, hands-on vocational education across India.
- Cross-functional exposure spanning mechanical, electrical and electronics domains, and a fast-growing product portfolio.
- A collaborative, hands-on work environment with room to take ownership of new simulator product lines.
- Growth opportunities as the company scales its simulator range for ITI, diploma and school segments.
