Role Level: Principal AWS Platform Architect (L4)
Location: Offshore - India
Role Overview The Principal AWS Platform Architect is responsible for defining and guiding the architecture of enterprise-scale data platform modernization initiatives focused on Redis, Amazon MemoryDB, distributed caching technologies, cloud-native data services, performance engineering, resiliency, and business continuity. The role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, Redis technologies, AWS-managed data services, high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, migration strategy, and large-scale platform modernization.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the target-state architecture for distributed caching and cloud-native data platform modernization initiatives.
- Lead current-state assessments, architecture reviews, migration planning, and modernization roadmaps.
- Design scalable and highly available Amazon MemoryDB and Redis-based platform architectures.
- Define cluster topology, sharding strategies, replication models, failover mechanisms, capacity planning, and operational standards.
- Architect multi-region business continuity, disaster recovery, resiliency, and high-availability solutions.
- Define migration strategies from self-managed Redis and legacy caching platforms to AWS-managed services.
- Lead performance engineering, benchmarking, scalability testing, and operational certification activities.
- Provide architecture governance, technical leadership, stakeholder communication, and executive-level guidance.
Required Skills and Experience
- 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, data platform architecture, distributed systems engineering, or cloud-native platform modernization.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Redis, distributed caching technologies, or similar low-latency data platforms.
- Solid expertise in Redis architecture, Amazon MemoryDB, Amazon ElastiCache, and distributed caching patterns.
- Proven experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud-native data platforms.
- Experience planning and executing large-scale migration programs from self-managed platforms to managed cloud services.
- Strong architecture documentation, stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
- AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty.
- Experience with multi-region active-active architectures and enterprise-scale disaster recovery programs.
