Job Responsibilities
- Lead PMO activities for multiple mechanical product development projects from concept to production.
- Plan, execute, monitor and close projects as per defined timelines, milestones and customer requirements.
- Track project deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies and corrective actions and ensure timely closure.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Design, Toolroom, Process Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Testing and Production teams.
- Drive T0/T1/T2 prototype builds, tooling trials, validation and PPAP activities.
- Ensure timely availability of mechanical components, tools, fixtures, samples and manufacturing resources.
- Monitor APQP deliverables and ensure compliance with NPD/NPI processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers for component development, tooling, trials, qualification and delivery
- Support BOM creation/release, engineering changes, design revisions and product documentation.
- Coordinate customer reviews, project status meetings and technical issue-resolution activities
- Prepare project dashboards, MIS, milestone status, risk reports and management updates.
- Ensure adherence to project quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Support product transfer to production and ensure smooth handover to manufacturing teams
- Mentor project team members and drive continuous improvement in project execution and delivery.
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automotive Engineering
Experience 3–16 Years
Technical Details
- Solid experience in Project Management / PMO for automotive mechanical product development
- End-to-end Recent Product Development (NPD/NPI) and project execution
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA and product validation processes
- Mechanical product development including Plastics, Sheet Metal, Die Casting, Molding Tools, Fixtures and Assemblies
- Project planning, milestone tracking, resource planning, risk management and escalation
- BOM management, engineering change management and product documentation
- Prototype builds, T0/T1/T2 samples and production readiness activities
- Supplier development, tooling coordination and manufacturing support
- Cross-functional coordination with Mechanical Design, Process Engineering, Toolroom, Sourcing, Quality, Testing and Production
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
