Company Description Infinity Quality Services (IQS) is a leading India-based provider of Inspection and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) services, supporting a wide range of industrial sectors. With strong hands-on expertise, IQS performs and witnesses inspections for static and rotary equipment, castings, forgings, welds, and various industrial components including automobile spares, plates, pipes, marine engine spares, and gears.
Role Description The Nondestructive Testing Engineer role is a full time, on-site position based in Panihati. The engineer will perform and oversee NDE activities such as ultrasonic flaw detection, thickness gauging, magnetic particle inspection, penetrant testing, hardness testing, dimensional and visual inspections on a variety of industrial components and equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing inspection jobs, interpreting and documenting test results, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications.
The role involves collaborating closely with quality control teams, technicians, and client representatives, supporting both routine inspection work and special projects. The engineer may also assist in training and mentoring junior staff in NDE techniques and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to understand industrial equipment, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Hands-on expertise in NDT testing methods, including setup, calibration, data interpretation, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Inspection and Quality Control practices, including visual inspection, dimensional checks, and documentation of findings.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices in nondestructive testing and industrial safety.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Certifications in NDT methods (e.g., ASNT Level II in UT, MT, PT or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work on-site in industrial environments, with attention to safety, accuracy, and detail.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, preparing clear reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn new NDE techniques and adapt to evolving project requirements and technologies.
