Mobile Developer

Role: Mobile Developer (iOS / Android / Cross-platform)

Experience: [13] years

Location: Coffee Brewery, HRBR Layout, Bangalore [ Work location - Restaurant]

Type: Full-time

About the role

We are hiring a Mobile Developer to design, build, and ship production apps for iOS and/or Android. You will own features end-to-end: architecture, UI, API integration, testing, performance, and store releases. You will work with Product, Design, and Backend to deliver a stable, fast, and maintainable mobile experience.

What you will do

- Build and maintain mobile apps using [Swift/SwiftUI | Kotlin/Jetpack Compose | Flutter | React Native]
- Translate product and design specs into production-quality features
- Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, auth (OAuth2/JWT), push notifications, and analytics
- Apply solid architecture (MVVM / Clean Architecture) and write testable code
- Improve performance: startup time, memory, rendering, battery, and network usage
- Write unit, widget/UI, and integration tests; debug crashes and ANRs/watchdog issues
- Own CI/CD, code signing, TestFlight / Play Internal testing, and store submissions
- Participate in code reviews and raise the teams engineering bar
- Stay current with platform changes (iOS/Android OS, store policies, new SDKs)

Skills requirements Must-have (table stakes)

Platform & language (pick the primary track)

- Android: Kotlin (preferred), Java for legacy; Android SDK, Jetpack (ViewModel, Navigation, Room, WorkManager), Jetpack Compose
- iOS: Swift (preferred), UIKit + SwiftUI; Xcode, Combine or Swift Concurrency (async/await)
- Cross-platform: Flutter + Dart or React Native + TypeScript (New Architecture: Fabric / TurboModules)

Core engineering

- App architecture: MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularization
- State management relevant to stack (StateFlow / Compose state, Combine, Riverpod/BLoC, Redux/Zustand)
- Networking: REST, JSON, error handling, retries, offline-first patterns
- Local storage: Room / Core Data / SQLite / Hive / SharedPreferences / Keychain-Keystore
- Git (branching, PRs, code review)

- Debugging and profiling (Android Studio Profiler / Instruments)
- Publishing: App Store Connect + TestFlight and/or Google Play Console (AAB, signing, staged rollout)

Quality & process

- Unit + UI testing (JUnit/Espresso/XCTest/Widget tests/Detox/Maestro)
- Agile delivery, tickets, estimates, and release notes
- Basic mobile security: secure storage, certificate pinning awareness, no secrets in the client

Strongly preferred
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane, Codemagic, or Xcode Cloud
- Firebase / equivalent: Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, FCM/APNs, App Distribution
- Deep linking, app links / universal links, and notification handling
- Accessibility and platform UI guidelines (Material / Human Interface Guidelines)
- Performance work: cold start, list virtualization, image caching, network waterfalls
- Observability: Sentry, Crashlytics, Datadog, or similar
- One secondary platform (e.g. Flutter primary + some native Kotlin/Swift)

Nice to have

- On-device ML / AI features (Core ML, ML Kit, on-device inference) or LLM API integration with good UX
- Kotlin Multiplatform or shared business logic
- GraphQL, WebSockets, or real-time features
- Payments / subscriptions (StoreKit 2, Play Billing)
- Maps, camera, BLE, background location (if product needs them)
- Design system work with Figma and pixel-accurate implementation
- Mentoring juniors, tech design docs, and ownership of a module or app
- Published apps you can walk through (architecture, trade-offs, incidents)

Soft skills

- Clear written and spoken communication with Product and Design
- Ownership: ships, measures, and follows through after release
- Judgment: knows when a native module is needed vs when the framework is enough
- Comfort using AI coding tools without skipping fundamentals (architecture, security, testing)

Qualifications

- Bachelors in CS / Engineering or equivalent experience with shipped apps
- [X]+ years building and maintaining production mobile apps
- At least one live app on App Store and/or Play Store that you can discuss
- Robust CS basics: data structures, concurrency, memory, and networking
