Job Summary

Jagdamba Laboratories is looking for a Microbiologist to join its laboratory team. The position is suitable for freshers and candidates with up to 1 year of experience who have good knowledge of microbiological laboratory techniques and are interested in analytical and quality testing.

The candidate will assist in microbiological analysis of food, water, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and other samples while following laboratory SOPs, quality procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine microbiological testing of food, water, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and other laboratory samples.
- Carry out microbial testing such as Total Plate Count (TPC), Total Coliform, E. coli, yeast & mold and other applicable microbiological tests.
- Perform sample preparation, serial dilution, media preparation, plating and incubation.
- Maintain aseptic conditions and follow proper contamination-control practices.
- Perform Gram staining, microscopy and basic microbial identification where applicable.
- Prepare, sterilize and maintain microbiological media, glassware and laboratory materials.
- Operate and maintain basic microbiology laboratory equipment such as autoclave, incubator, laminar airflow, colony counter and microscope.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, GLP and applicable quality requirements.
- Maintain proper records of sample receipt, testing,



observations and results.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage and disposal of samples, cultures and laboratory waste.
- Participate in environmental monitoring and laboratory hygiene activities.
- Report abnormal observations or test results to the senior microbiologist.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the microbiology laboratory.
- Support documentation, internal quality activities and laboratory audits.

Required Skills
- Solid basic knowledge of Microbiology.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and microbial culture methods.
- Understanding of media preparation, sterilization and incubation.
- Basic knowledge of food, water or pharmaceutical microbiological testing.
- Good laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Willingness to learn laboratory testing procedures and quality systems.

Preferred Candidates
- B.Sc./M.Sc. Microbiology candidates.
- Freshers with laboratory project/internship experience.
- Candidates with 0–1 year experience in a food testing, pharmaceutical, water testing, QC or analytical laboratory.
- Candidates having basic knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, GLP and microbiological testing standards will be preferred.
