We need a mechanical engineer to own fabrication execution — turning our designs into manufactured parts, managing vendors, and closing the loop on quality.
This is not a design/R&D; role. You'll work with drawings we provide and make sure they get built right, on time, and within budget.
What you'll do
- Convert CAD designs into fabrication-ready drawings (GD&T;, tolerances, BOM)
- Source and manage local vendors — sheet metal, CNC, wire-cut, polymer tooling
- Inspect incoming parts against drawings; run iteration cycles with vendors on failed fits
- Track fabrication costs and lead times per component
- Flag manufacturability issues before parts go to the vendor, not after
What you need
- B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Hands-on experience with a fabrication vendor or job shop — not just corporate/OEM procurement
- Can read and mark up 2D drawings with GD&T;
- Working knowledge of CNC, wire-cut, and sheet metal processes — what each can and can't hold in practice
- Comfortable pushing back on vendors and working from incomplete specs
Bonus
- Experience with polymer/plastic tooling (CNC on polymer, vacuum forming)
- Exposure to low-volume, high-mix production (prototypes, small batches) rather than assembly-line work
