Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager a Hallmarking to oversee the operations, quality standards, regulatory compliance, and process management of the Hallmarking Department. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of hallmarking processes, BIS requirements, quality control, documentation, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage overall Hallmarking Department operations and ensure accurate and timely processing of jewellery articles.
- Ensure compliance with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) requirements and applicable hallmarking standards, including responsibilities related to IS 15820.
- Oversee receipt, identification, coding, testing, verification, acceptance/rejection, and safe custody of jewellery articles.
- Implement quality control measures, including repeatability checks, sample retention, and participation in Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) / Proficiency Testing programs.
- Monitor statutory licences, approvals, consents, certificates, insurance policies, and regulatory documentation and ensure timely renewals.
- Analyse customer complaints, feedback, non-compliances, and operational deficiencies and drive corrective and improvement actions.
- Maintain records of personnel competency and training and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance, non-compliance, operational efficiency,



and improvement initiatives to management.
- Ensure proper documentation, inventory control, secure handling, and transfer of jewellery articles within the Hallmarking Centre.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, quality, and regulatory standards within the department.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

- 5+ years of relevant experience in Hallmarking, Assaying, Jewellery Quality, Laboratory Operations, or a related field.
- Graduate in any discipline; Chemistry graduates preferred.
- Robust understanding of quality processes, regulatory requirements, documentation, and operational controls.
- Experience in BIS-related hallmarking operations will be preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, coordination, leadership, and team-management skills.
