Title: Manager – Mechanical Engineering

Summary: Lead a team (3-5 persons) of mechanical design, quality and procurement engineers for carrying out detailed engineering and purchasing of vessels, as well as procurement of piping materials and structural steel.

- Actively engage with vendors in the design of pressure vessels. Make key decisions related to cost, feasibility of design ideas, metallurgy choices.
- Supervise bid generation, bid evaluation, purchase orders of all pressure vessels.
- Understand, applicable codes (ASME, API), enforce quality protocols.
- Expedite and ensure timely completion of delivery of pressure vessels.
- Inspect vessels and authorize release to shipment
- Interact with Sequoia’s piping and process design engineers, instrumentation engineers, project management staff for integration of the vessels into the complete plant design.




- Starting with piping and structural engineering drawings and documents, lead the company’s activities for all purchasing activities of piping materials and structural steel.
- Enforce codes, quality control, final inspections and approvals prior to shipment of piping and steel materials.
- Develop standard operating procedures for better overall quality of work-product by the team, develop project deliverables, assign responsibilities within the group.
- Ensure quality of internal and external work-product and actively manage timely completion of milestones for mechanical engineering work.
- Lead/manage vendor development for vessels, piping materials and structural steel.
- Participate in the Executive Committee of the company addressing policy issues, critical project issues and planning.
- Motivate employees and help them reach their true potential through reviews, planning and dialogue.

The Candidate:

- Qualifications:

ü B.E. / B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from a qualified institution with outstanding performance in studies. ü 10-15 years’ experience in design and engineering of pressure vessels, modules involving vessels, piping and structural steel.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Good quantitative skills and an interest in how things work

Location and Travel: Work from our office in . Up to10% travel out of Pune.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will be better than industry average.
