Profile: Logistics Manager

Location: Runkata, Agra

Job Summary

The Logistics Manager will oversee and optimize the factory's logistics operations, ensuring efficient movement of raw materials, finished goods, and other supplies throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of goods, minimize costs, and uphold quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations

- Manage and oversee the end-to-end logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, material handling, and distribution.
- Ensure timely receipt and delivery of raw materials to production lines and finished products to customers or designated locations.
- Develop transportation strategies and routes to optimize cost, efficiency, and delivery schedules.

Inventory and Warehousing:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure consistent availability of supplies.
- Implement systems and processes for inventory control to minimize wastage, overstocking, and stock-outs.
- Supervise warehouse staff and enforce proper storage, labeling, and handling of goods.

Vendor and Carrier Management:
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics service providers.
- Negotiate competitive rates and contracts with transportation and warehousing vendors.
- Onboard logistics / fleet partner, along with per ton per km rate card from factory.
- Ensure sufficient fleet tie-ups to minimize turnaround time for the delivery of finished goods.

Team Management and Collaboration:
- Train, manage, and mentor logistics team members to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams across procurement, production, and sales to ensure the smooth flow of goods and information.

Process Optimization:




- Analyze logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Implement best practices, technology solutions, and automation tools to streamline operations.

Reporting and Analytics:
- Prepare reports on logistics performance metrics, such as delivery timelines, transportation costs, and inventory turnover.
- Be a single point of contact for status of goods delivery for sales team.

Qualifications:

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA in Logistics/Supply Chain Management is a plus.

Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
- Proven track record of managing factory-based logistics operations.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation planning, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
- Proficiency in logistics management systems (ERP or WMS software).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Robust organizational and leadership skills to manage teams and resources effectively.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
