JOB DESCRIPTIONLearning & Development Executive – Hospitality
Department: Human Resources – Learning & Development
Designation: Executive – L&D;

Location: Bengaluru / Pan India
Reporting To: L&D; Manager / HR Head
1. JOB PURPOSE
To support the design, coordination, execution, and evaluation of learning and development initiatives across outlets and corporate functions, ensuring employees receive the required technical, behavioural, service, compliance, and leadership training to improve guest experience, operational standards, productivity, and employee performance.
1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Training Needs Analysis
- Identify training requirements through outlet visits, employee assessments, performance reviews, guest feedback, audits, and discussions with Outlet Heads/Brand Heads.
- Coordinate with Operations and Department Heads to identify skill gaps.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly training calendars based on business requirements.
- Track training requirements for new joiners, existing employees, and promoted employees.
B. Hospitality & Operational Training Conduct and coordinate training on:
- Guest Service & Hospitality Standards
- Grooming & Personal Hygiene
- Restaurant Service Standards
- Food & Beverage Product Knowledge
- Menu Knowledge
- Upselling & Suggestive Selling
- Guest Complaint Handling
- Communication & Customer Service
- Telephone & Email Etiquette
- POS / Operational SOPs
- Food Safety & Hygiene
- Bar Service & Responsible Service
- Housekeeping / Stewarding standards, wherever applicable
- Fire & Life Safety
- Workplace Safety and Emergency Procedures
C. Induction & Onboarding
- Conduct structured induction programs for new employees.
- Coordinate departmental induction with Outlet Heads and Department Managers.
- Ensure new joiners understand company policies, SOPs, service standards, grooming, attendance, and workplace expectations.
- Maintain induction records and completion status.
D. Employee Development
- Support competency development for Staff, Captain, Supervisor, Manager, and Executive levels.
- Coordinate skill-building programs for high-potential employees.
- Support career development and succession planning initiatives.
- Conduct training for employees promoted or transferred to new roles.
- Assist in developing individual development plans where required.
E. Training Execution
- Conduct classroom, practical, on-the-job, and role-play-based training sessions.
- Coordinate external trainers and subject matter experts when required.
- Ensure training is interactive,
practical, and relevant to hospitality operations.
- Conduct outlet-level training based on operational requirements.
F. Training Evaluation & Effectiveness
- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments.
- Evaluate employee understanding and application of training.
- Obtain participant feedback after training sessions.
- Measure training effectiveness through operational performance, guest feedback, audit results, sales performance, and manager feedback.
- Recommend refresher training wherever required.

Prepare regular L&D; reports for HR Head / Management. H. Compliance & Mandatory Training
Coordinate mandatory training programs related to:
- Food Safety & Hygiene
- POSH
- Fire & Emergency Safety
- First Aid
- Workplace Safety
- Labour / statutory awareness
- Responsible alcohol service, wherever applicable
- Company policies and Code of Conduct
Ensure required training records are available for audits and compliance requirements. I. Outlet Visits & Training Audits
- Regularly visit outlets to observe employee performance and service standards.
- Conduct training audits and identify gaps.
- Work closely with Outlet Heads to improve service quality.
- Follow up on action plans arising from training and operational audits.
J. Training Content Development
- Develop and update training presentations, SOP-based modules, assessment forms, quizzes, checklists, and handouts.
- Customize training content based on brand standards and operational requirements.
- Maintain a central repository of L&D; training materials.

1. QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality / HR / Business Administration or equivalent.
- Certification in Learning & Development / Training is an advantage.
1. EXPERIENCE
2–5 years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, Training, HR, or Operations within the hospitality, hotel, restaurant, QSR, bar, club, or F&B; industry. Candidates with strong operational hospitality experience and a transition into L&D; may also be considered.

Training consultants, external trainers, certification bodies, hospitality institutes and other training partners.
1. WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily outlet and field-based training role.
- Regular travel between multiple hospitality outlets may be required.
- Flexible working hours based on operational requirements.
- May be required to conduct training during pre-opening, peak operational periods, or different shifts.
1. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on hospitality L&D; professional who understands restaurant/hotel operations and can effectively train frontline teams. The person should be capable of converting operational gaps into practical training interventions and working closely with Outlet Heads and Brand Heads to improve service quality, employee capability, guest experience, and operational performance. Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
