Position Title: Lead / Senior Engineer - Protection

Work Location: DLF, Chennai

Experience: 8 to 15 Years Senior Engineer, 15 to 20 Years Lead Engineer

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with professional certifications/ accreditations.

Experience: 8+ years of experience in Protection Design and Analysis of T&D; projects and preferably with exposure in the Gulf Region.

Purpose:

To lead, develop, direct, and organize a team of Sr. Protection Design Engineers, Protection Design Engineers, and Designers for T&D; projects.

:

- Prepare Control, Protection, Metering and Monitoring systems design meeting quality and schedule requirements.
- Implement/follow the design process/workflow to meet internal quality,



execution and project requirements.
- Implementation of QMS procedures in all stages of design development.
- Utilize relevant PTS, Utility, and International Standards for a particular project.
- Motivate and encourage design and engineering team.
- Ensure clients expectations are realized.
- Archive project documents in line with company recognized Document Management System.
- Engineering estimate and technical proposal for tendering/bidding process.
- Engage in continuous learning and keep updated with relevant standards, codes, and regulations for respective discipline works and project execution.
- Coordinate with other discipline and functional sections for day-to-day operations.

Skills Required:

- Good working knowledge on design of control, protection, metering, and monitoring systems for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations from concept design to construction drawings. Working knowledge on T&D; functions w.r.t construction in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Working knowledge on control, protection, metering, and monitoring systems pertaining to control & protection schemes, CT/ PT calculations, relay setting calculations etc.
- Strong Knowledge of SAS system, IED relays, IEC61850, and interface with SCADA and communication
- Familiar with relevant codes & standards – International electro-technical commission (IEC), IEEE, BS (British Standards), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software – DIGSI, PCM600, MICOM AGILE, Envista, SEL, Building Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD etc.
- Be passionate about protection systems and the power environment. Be a creative leader in design and project management. Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
- Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a valuable command over English.
