About the Role

As the Lead – Data, Systems & Automation at IIDE's Corporate Office in Lower Parel, you will take ownership of the organization's evolving data ecosystem, business systems, integrations, automation, and reporting infrastructure.

As IIDE scales across websites, LMS platforms, student and internal portals, CRM systems, marketing platforms, payment systems, and other business applications, you will play a pivotal role in building a centralized and scalable technology ecosystem. A key focus of the role will be establishing the organization's central data platform as the source of truth while ensuring connected systems exchange and consume data accurately and reliably.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines data and database architecture, systems thinking, API integrations, automation, reporting, and people management. You will work closely with technology and business teams to understand complex problems, design scalable solutions, and lead the team responsible for implementing and maintaining them.

What You'll Do

● Data Architecture & Source of Truth:

○ Take ownership of IIDE's evolving data architecture and centralized data ecosystem.

○ Design and maintain scalable data models, database structures, entities, and relationships.

○ Establish the central database as the single source of truth for core business, lead, applicant, student, enrollment, and operational data.

○ Define how data flows between the central data layer and systems such as CRM, LMS, websites, portals, marketing platforms, payment systems, reporting tools, and internal applications.

○ Establish clear data ownership to prevent conflicting or duplicate sources of truth across systems.

○ Identify and resolve data duplication, inconsistencies, and quality issues.

○ Establish standards for data validation, integrity, consistency, governance, and documentation.

○ Ensure the data architecture can scale to support future applications, portals, CRMs, and business systems.

● Database Design & Data Modelling:

○ Design and maintain scalable relational and non-relational database architectures.

○ Create and manage database schemas, entity relationships, and structured data models.

○ Ensure databases are optimized for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

○ Work closely with the Engineering team to establish standardized data structures and architectural principles across applications.

○ Define best practices for database design, data access, governance, backup, recovery, and security.

○ Review and guide database-related technical decisions made by the team.

● Systems Integration & API Architecture:

○ Design and manage integrations between the central data platform and business applications including websites, LMS platforms, student portals, internal applications, CRM systems, marketing platforms, payment systems, and BI tools.

○ Build and maintain reliable integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication mechanisms, and third-party platforms.

○ Define how data should move between systems and ensure synchronization remains accurate, secure, and reliable.

○ Implement error handling, logging, monitoring, alerts, and retry mechanisms for business-critical integrations.

○ Ensure integrations are scalable, maintainable, secure, and appropriately documented.

● CRM & Business Systems Integration:

○ Partner with CRM and business process teams to integrate CRM platforms with the organization's central data ecosystem.





○ Ensure CRM platforms operate as business execution systems while the central data platform remains the authoritative source for core business data.

○ Design and manage data synchronization between CRM platforms, internal applications, and other connected systems.

○ Ensure lead, applicant, student, enrollment, and other operational data flows reliably across relevant systems.

○ Identify gaps in current business systems and recommend scalable technology solutions.

○ Support the long-term evolution of IIDE's overall systems architecture.

● Automation & Process Optimization:

○ Identify repetitive, manual, and inefficient processes that can be improved through technology and automation.

○ Design and implement scalable automation workflows across business functions.

○ Build and manage automations using platforms such as Make, n8n, Zapier, or similar tools.

○ Use APIs and webhooks to connect systems and automate end-to-end business workflows.

○ Automate data synchronization, reporting, notifications, lead processes, and operational activities.

○ Monitor critical automations and ensure they remain reliable as business volumes increase.

○ Implement appropriate alerts, monitoring, logging, and error-handling mechanisms.

○ Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, operational dependencies, and process errors.

● Data, Reporting & Business Intelligence:

○ Own the data infrastructure required for accurate, consistent, and reliable business reporting.

○ Consolidate data from multiple systems and make it accessible for reporting and analysis.

○ Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes where required.

○ Ensure data is cleaned, validated, structured, and readily available for decision-making.

○ Partner with stakeholders to define standardized business metrics and data definitions.

○ Ensure management dashboards and reports are powered by consistent and trusted data.

○ Reduce manual reporting through automated data pipelines and reporting systems.

○ Identify data gaps and work with relevant teams to improve reporting quality and accuracy.

● Team Leadership & People Management:

○ Lead and mentor a team working across data, automation, integrations, reporting, and business systems.

○ Plan and allocate work based on business priorities, project requirements, and team capacity.

○ Establish clear ownership, deliverables, timelines, and accountability across projects.

○ Conduct regular one-on-ones, team reviews, and performance discussions.

○ Mentor team members and identify opportunities for technical and professional development.

○ Build a culture of ownership, documentation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

○ Support the hiring, onboarding, and development of team members.

○ Build team capability to independently manage day-to-day systems and operations with minimal dependency on senior leadership.

● Additional Duties:

○ Collaborate closely with Technology, Sales, Marketing, Admissions, Operations, Finance, and other business teams.

○ Understand business problems and translate them into scalable technology, data, systems, and automation solutions.

○ Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.

○ Challenge inefficient processes and proactively recommend better ways of working.

○ Communicate project timelines, risks, dependencies, priorities, and expected outcomes clearly.

○ Ensure technology and data initiatives remain aligned with broader organizational objectives.

○ Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management, aligned with the broad scope of the position.

Requirements

Who You Are

● Must-Have:

○ 3–8 years of experience across Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Business Systems, Automation, Software Engineering, or a related technology function.

○ Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing a technical team.

○ Strong understanding of database architecture,



data modelling, entities, relationships, and scalable data structures.

○ Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

○ Good understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

○ Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, API authentication, and third-party integrations.

○ Experience integrating multiple applications, platforms, and business systems.

○ Hands-on experience building or managing automation workflows using Make, n8n, Zapier, or similar tools.

○ Experience working with CRM platforms and business applications.

○ Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

○ Ability to take ownership of complex projects and manage competing business priorities.

● Should Have:

○ Experience with database architecture, data governance, data quality, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data warehousing concepts.

○ Experience using PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or comparable database technologies.

○ Working knowledge of reporting and BI platforms such as Metabase, Looker Studio, Power BI, Zoho Analytics, or Tableau.

○ Knowledge of Python, JavaScript/Node.js, or SQL for data processing, scripting, integrations, or automation.

○ Experience defining a Source of Truth or System of Record across multiple connected applications.

○ Experience designing scalable integrations with appropriate monitoring, logging, retry logic, and error handling.

○ Solid understanding of how CRMs, websites, LMS platforms, portals, payment systems, and internal applications should exchange data.

● Nice to Have:

○ Experience with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses.

○ Hands-on experience using Python for data processing and automation.

○ Experience in EdTech, SaaS, product-based companies, high-growth startups, business systems, CRM architecture, data engineering, or enterprise automation.

○ Exposure to designing or evolving centralized data platforms in growing organizations.

○ Experience building systems that support large-scale operational reporting and management decision-making.
