Responsibilities

QUALITY EXECUTIVE – FLAVOUR

JOB PARTICULARS

- Reporting To QC Manager - Flavours
- Location - Chennai

JOB PURPOSE The Executive – QC, Flavours is responsible for supporting the day-to-day Quality Control activities of the Flavours Division, including the analysis, testing, clearance, and release of Raw Materials (RM), Intermediates, Finished Goods (FG), and Packing Materials. The role is also responsible for maintaining laboratory systems and equipment, supporting regulatory and quality documentation, and acting as the second person-in-charge for the Flavours QC function to ensure continuity of QC operations.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate the sampling of Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and Intermediates.
- Perform daily QC sensory evaluations and analytical testing for Raw Materials, Intermediates, and Finished Goods and provide timely clearances.
- Create and maintain Quality Plans in SAP for Raw Materials, Intermediates, and Finished Goods.
- Coordinate with external service personnel for preventive maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.




- Support the QR Manager with documentation and clearances using relevant systems/software such as SAP.
- Plan and coordinate the procurement/availability of standard references, specifications, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for new Raw Materials and Finished Goods.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of vendor development samples.
- Perform validation of laboratory standard solutions.
- Maintain adequate stock of critical spares and consumables for GC, Density Meter, and Refractive Index (RI) Meter.
- Perform and document GC validation activities.
- Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Conduct Packing Material analysis and release.
- Coordinate activities and documentation related to Halal and Kosher requirements.
- Support customer complaint management, customer audits, vendor audits, and timely CAPA closure.
- Participate in investigations related to quality deviations, non-conforming materials, and customer complaints, including root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation in accordance with applicable QMS, FSMS, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the QC function.

KEY DELIVERABLES

- Ensure on-time QC testing, clearance, and release of materials and products.
- Maintain compliance with FSMS, ISO, QMS, Halal, Kosher, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support Production through timely release of Raw Materials and Intermediates.
- Improve service levels through timely testing and clearance of Finished Goods & Raw Materials.




- Maintain laboratory equipment in positive working condition and minimize major breakdowns.
- Ensure laboratory records, calibration, validation, and maintenance documentation are current and audit ready.
- Target zero major non-conformities during internal and external audits relating to QMS, FSMS, and Halal requirements.
- Act as the second-line Flavours QC resource, ensuring continuity of the QC function without operational stoppages.
- Ensure timely investigation and closure of deviations, complaints, and CAPAs.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

M.Sc. in Chemistry / B.Tech. in Chemical Technology / Chemical Engineering / B.Tech. in Food Technology /Biotechnology / Equivalent relevant scientific or technical qualification

- Familiarity with SAP and QC documentation systems
- Understanding of QMS / FSMS / ISO requirements

EXPERIENCE

- Relevant experience in the Flavours, Food Ingredients, Food, FMCG, Chemical, or allied industry, preferably in a Quality Control / Quality function, with demonstrated experience in laboratory testing and QC operations.
- Experience in sensory evaluation, GC analysis, SAP, laboratory equipment management, QMS/FSMS, audits, CAPA, and QC documentation will be preferred
