Role Overview -

We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our technology team and help us build, maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.

You will work closely with our Engineering and Product teams to support our GCP-based infrastructure, Kubernetes/GKE environments, CI/CD pipelines and cloud operations. The role will provide exposure to infrastructure automation, monitoring, security and reliability, with a strong focus on learning and building scalable DevOps practices.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in cloud and DevOps concepts, is comfortable working with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform, and is eager to learn and take ownership of infrastructure and deployment-related problems.

Key Responsibilities -

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

- Support the management and day-to-day operations of our GCP infrastructure, including VPCs, IAM, compute and networking.
- Assist in maintaining secure and reliable cloud environments across development, staging and production.
- Support configuration of firewall rules, networking policies and access controls.
- Monitor infrastructure health, resource utilisation and availability, and proactively identify issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting infrastructure and application deployment issues.

Kubernetes & Containers
- Support the deployment and management of applications on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and Kustomize to manage containerised applications.
- Assist in configuring Kubernetes deployments, services, ingress, configurations and secrets.
- Support implementation of Kubernetes best practices around access control, resource management and networking.
- Troubleshoot pod, deployment, networking and container-related issues.

CI/CD & DevOps Automation
- Maintain and improve GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build pipelines.
- Automate build,



test and deployment workflows to improve engineering efficiency.
- Assist in implementing automated checks and security scans as part of CI/CD pipelines.
- Support deployment processes across development, staging and production environments.
- Help troubleshoot failed builds and deployments and document recurring issues.

Infrastructure as Code
- Work with Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain and update existing Terraform configurations and modules.
- Follow infrastructure-as-code best practices and ensure changes are properly reviewed and documented.
- Assist in identifying and resolving infrastructure configuration issues.

Security & Reliability
- Follow security best practices across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and CI/CD environments.
- Assist with IAM, secrets management, encryption and access controls.
- Support vulnerability scanning and remediation across container images and infrastructure.
- Assist with maintaining secure configuration of applications and cloud resources.
- Participate in incident troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for infrastructure and deployment issues.

Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor infrastructure and application performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and GCP Cloud Logging.
- Support alert management and investigation of infrastructure issues.
- Participate in incident response and help ensure timely resolution of production issues.
- Maintain runbooks and documentation for common operational issues and processes.

Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with Engineering, Product and other teams to support smooth application deployments and reliable infrastructure.




- Document infrastructure, deployment processes and operational procedures.
- Identify repetitive manual processes and opportunities for automation.
- Continuously learn and adopt better tools and practices to improve reliability, security and developer experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 13 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE or a similar role.
- Good understanding of Linux systems, networking and cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with GCP or another major cloud platform, with willingness to deepen GCP expertise.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; exposure to GKE is preferred.
- Familiarity with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
- Experience with Git and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
- Basic understanding of IAM, networking, secrets management and cloud security.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or GCP Cloud Logging.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams in a rapid-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with GCP GKE.
- Exposure to Helm, Kustomize and ArgoCD/GitOps.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ from an infrastructure or operations perspective.
- Familiarity with Google Secret Manager or HashiCorp Vault.
- Exposure to security scanning tools such as Trivy, tfsec or Checkov.
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes security, RBAC and Network Policies.
- Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch or ELK.
- Experience working in a fintech or regulated environment is a plus.
- Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
