Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage, maintain, and support our server and virtualization infrastructure across both Windows and Linux environments. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hands-on experience administering physical and virtualized servers and brings solid working knowledge of IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, and hypervisor technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our infrastructure estate.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server and Linux server environments.
- Deploy, configure, and manage web applications and services on Internet Information Services (IIS), including bindings, application pools, SSL certificates, and troubleshooting.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) — installation, configuration, backups, restores, performance tuning, and routine maintenance.
- Provision and manage virtual machines on hypervisor and HCI platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix, Proxmox), including resource allocation, snapshots, and capacity planning.
- Monitor server health, performance, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Apply patches, updates, and security hardening across the server estate in line with best practices.
- Manage user access,



permissions, Active Directory objects, and group policies.
- Document configurations, procedures, and changes; participate in on-call / after-hours support as required.
- Collaborate with development, network, and support teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Server Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong administration experience with Windows Server (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting).
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux server administration.
- Practical experience configuring and managing IIS (Internet Information Services).
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration and maintenance.
- Experience with hypervisor / virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster-recovery concepts.
- Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

- Hands-on experience with Nutanix and/or Proxmox is strongly preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware VCP, Nutanix NCP, Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE).
- Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Bash for automation.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
- Experience with monitoring tools and ITIL / change-management processes.
