Position: Head of Department (HOD) – Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)

Experience: 5–7 Years

Educational Qualification

- M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology / Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Candidates with prior HOD / Head of Department experience will be preferred.
- Strong academic and clinical knowledge of Medical Laboratory Science.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) department.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor academic activities of the department.
- Supervise and mentor faculty members and laboratory staff.
- Prepare and implement academic schedules, lesson plans and departmental activities.
- Ensure effective delivery of theoretical and practical laboratory training.
- Monitor student academic performance, attendance and overall development.
- Coordinate practical sessions, laboratory activities, assessments and examinations.
- Ensure proper maintenance, availability and utilization of laboratory equipment and resources.
- Maintain academic records, departmental documentation and required reports.
- Guide faculty members in teaching, research and professional development.
- Coordinate with hospitals and clinical laboratories for student training, internships and practical exposure.
- Ensure compliance with institutional academic policies and quality standards.
- Address student and faculty concerns and provide appropriate academic guidance.




- Participate in curriculum development, seminars, workshops and departmental events.
- Report departmental performance, requirements and achievements to senior management.

Required Experience
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Medical Laboratory Technology / Medical Laboratory Science.
- Prior experience as HOD / Head of Department is preferred and highly desirable.
- Experience in teaching, clinical laboratory work and academic administration will be an advantage.
- Candidates from colleges, universities or healthcare education institutions will be preferred.
