NWe are looking for a Virtual Medical Assistant with healthcare industry experience to support our U.S. medical office clients.
NPosition Overview
nThe Virtual Medical Assistant will provide non-clinical administrative support to U.S.-based medical practices. This position requires strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during U.S. business hours.
NThe ideal candidate will have experience with patient scheduling, insurance verification, prior authorizations, medical billing, patient communication, and general medical-office administration.
NKey ResponsibilitiesPatient Scheduling & Communication

- Make and receive patient calls.
N
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
N
- Contact patients regarding appointments, referrals, follow-ups, and administrative matters.
N
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
N
- Document patient communications accurately in the EHR/practice-management system.
N
nMedical Office Administration
N

- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks for U.S. medical practices.
N
- Manage electronic documents, faxes, forms, referrals, and administrative requests.
N
- Maintain accurate patient and office records.
N
- Monitor assigned tasks and ensure timely completion.
N
- Follow client-specific workflows, protocols, and SOPs.
N
nPrior Authorizations
N
n
- Initiate and process insurance prior authorization requests.
N
- Verify insurance requirements.
N
- Collect and submit required documentation.
N
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding authorization requests.
N
- Track pending authorizations and perform appropriate follow-ups.
N
- Maintain accurate authorization records.
N
nMedical Billing Support
N

- Assist with medical billing and revenue-cycle management activities.
N
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
N
- Assist with claims submission and claim follow-up.
N
- Review claims for missing or incorrect information.
N
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding claim status.
N
- Assist with accounts receivable and denial-related administrative tasks.
N
nGeneral HealthcareAdministrative Support

- Provide administrative assistance to physicians, providers, and medical-office staff.
N
- Manage assigned administrative work queues.
N
- Coordinate with U.S.-based medical-office teams.
N
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

- Learn and adapt to different EHR, scheduling, billing, and practice-management systems.

nRequired Qualifications

- Previous experience in the healthcare or medical industry.
N
- Knowledge of U.S. healthcare and medical-office workflows is strongly preferred.

- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Professional telephone etiquette.

- Ability to communicate effectively with U.S.
patients, insurance companies, and healthcare staff.

- Strong computer and internet skills.

- Ability to work with EHR/EMR and medical practice-management systems.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

- Willingness and abilityto work from 5:00 PM to 2:30 AM IST.
