Role Description

This is a contractual role with a duration upto 6 months (negotiable) and possibility to convert into a full time associate position.

The ESG & Carbon Market Intern will support climate-focused projects by analyzing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, evaluating carbon market opportunities, and contributing to decarbonization strategies for clients across multiple sectors. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting market and policy research on carbon credits and compliance schemes, modeling emission reduction scenarios, and preparing clear, data-driven reports and presentations for internal teams and clients. The specialist will work with cross-functional stakeholders to design carbon footprint assessments, support LCA-related analysis, CBAM and assess the feasibility of participation in voluntary and compliance carbon markets.

The role also involves monitoring regulatory developments, supporting client engagement with carbon registries and standards, and helping structure carbon transactions and offset strategies.

The role involves collaborating with the Founder on case studies and assisting in creating innovative solutions to address sustainability challenges for industry.





This is a contract position based in Gurugram in a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

- This role is well-suited for candidates with an interest in process engineering, power distribution systems, energy systems, industrial decarbonization and applied sustainability research, and offers exposure to real-world decision-making at the interface of technology, policy, and markets.
- Candidate should possess skills to conduct Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions accounting, emissions data analysis, model emission scenarios, and support LCA and CBAM related exercises.
- Candidates should possess research skills to evaluate carbon market trends, pricing, and policy developments.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentation preparation.
- Relevant experience in GHG accounting (e.g., GHG Protocol), carbon markets or environmental economics is must.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards, climate policy, and ESG reporting or disclosure frameworks (such as GRI, ISSB, BRSR, CSRD, SBTi, TCFD, or CDP) is preferable.
- Proficiency in research methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
- Self driven and has ability to think critically, solve complex problems and work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- Willingness to work in Gurgaon / Delhi NCR and commitment to full-time engagement.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with a relevant B.Tech / M.Tech degree in core engineering streams such as electrical, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering and super interested in sustainability, economics, or related fields.
