Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Patna for a Drone Integration Engineer and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Pilot. The role involves integrating hardware and software components into drone platforms, configuring flight controllers and sensors, and testing systems to ensure reliable performance in various operating environments. The engineer-pilot will plan and execute UAV missions, conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections, monitor flight safety, and collect data from field operations, particularly in agricultural and industrial use cases.
Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, performing routine maintenance,
collaborating with design and operations teams to improve drone capabilities, and documenting configurations, test results, and operational procedures. The role also requires adherence to relevant aviation regulations and safety standards, training end users on safe operation, and contributing to continuous improvement of drone technologies and workflows.
Qualifications
- Solid background in drone systems engineering, including integration of flight controllers, propulsion systems, sensors, and communication modules.
- Hands-on experience as a UAV/drone pilot, with practical knowledge of mission planning, navigation, and safe flight operations in varied environments.
- Understanding of aerodynamics, electronics, and embedded systems relevant to unmanned aerial vehicles, with ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Knowledge of applicable aviation and UAV regulations, safety protocols, and risk management practices for field operations.
- Familiarity with agricultural or industrial applications of drones, including payload configuration for spraying, mapping, or inspection tasks.
- Proficiency with basic tools and software for drone calibration, telemetry monitoring, and data collection; experience with flight planning or ground control software is an advantage.
- Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and train users on drone systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, robotics, or a related technical field.
