Purpose/Objective The Manager - Production Planning is responsible for managing the end-to-end production planning process, ensuring seamless material management, inventory control, and timely execution of production schedules.

This role focuses on optimizing production efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring accurate order management.

The Cluster Manager will also drive cost-saving initiatives, improve process workflows, and enhance safety and compliance through training and development programs.

The role demands a proactive approach in maintaining inventory levels, ensuring on-time raw material issuance, and meeting production targets in a dynamic workplace.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Project Management: - Oversee cost-saving and process improvement initiatives within production planning, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, improving systems, and reducing operational costs across multiple plants or production sites.

Production Order Management: - Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of production orders across the cluster.

Monitor and prevent any repetition of production orders for costing purposes.

Ensure timely closure of TECO orders to maintain accurate costing and production records.

Production Planning & Control: - Monitor the execution of the monthly production plan across multiple plants, tracking daily production output (volume, grade, bins, rejections).

Ensure raw materials are issued on time to prevent production stoppages and minimize unplanned changeovers caused by material shortages.

Inventory Management: - Ensure the clearance of block stock inventory within the designated reporting period to optimize storage and reduce holding costs.

Work on actively reducing non-moving inventory (NMI) of raw materials, aligning stock levels with production requirements and avoiding excess.





Cost Control: - Ensures production costs stay aligned with the budget by implementing strategies to optimize resource allocation and minimize material and labor waste across multiple production lines.

MIS & Reporting: - Oversee the timely release of plant-specific P2D2 MIS reports, tracking key raw material coverage, production metrics, and ensuring accurate coordination between plants for on-time delivery and material availability.

Review and communicate any issues that may affect production schedules.

Safety & Compliance: - Ensure all employees complete the required safety and compliance training, including E-Vidyalaya training sessions.

Foster a culture of safety within the production planning teams by driving regular safety interactions, promoting training, and ensuring adherence to internal safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: - Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Work Experience (Range of years): - 5-11 years in production planning and management roles.

Proven experience in leading teams, managing production schedules, and optimizing processes.
