Your Role

Interested in working in Group Risk Control, specifically Model Risk Management & Control team (MRMC) but not sure where to start? You’ll get to

- conduct independent validation of models by assessing conceptual soundness, methodology, input data, assumptions, parameters, calibration accuracy, and qualitative or expert adjustments, while identifying model limitations and evaluating overall model risk
- review model outcomes and impacts through benchmarking and robustness analyses, ensuring results are reliable, fit for purpose, and aligned with model risk management standards
- document validation findings to required standards and collaborate with model developers, users, and governance stakeholders to strengthen and maintain the effectiveness of the model risk management framework

Your Team

You’ll be working in the Model Risk Management & Control team (MRMC) responsible for the independent validation of the models used across different areas within UBS. The team consists of sub-teams working on different areas such credit risk, market risk, climate risk, firmwide risk, AI, asset management etc. and the models might be developed both in-house and externally. The exact allocation of the team will depend on the requirement of the sub-teams and the candidate’s background.

Your Expertise

We’re looking for a candidate who

- is pursuing MA / MSc degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or Quantitative Economics




- has knowledge of financial markets and products, strong interest in the financial services industry, preferably in risk management. Prior experience in model development or validation is a plus
- has robust coding skills in R, Python, MATLAB or similar and excellent analytical skills
- has curiosity and a thirst for innovation
- is curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment, validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
- has values that align with ours: hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
- is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills
- is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines
