We’re Hiring: Lead Designer (Mechanical) in Chennai!

Are you an experienced mechanical design skilled ready to take the next step in your career and lead a dynamic team? We are looking for a Lead Designer to join our team in Chennai.

In this role, you will lead a team of designers and senior designers, manage manhour estimates, and oversee workplans to ensure seamless project delivery. You will play a key part in the 3D modelling and detail engineering of skid-mounted packages.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, coach, and guide the design team to ensure project success.
- Understand technical project requirements and prepare project specification documents.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers (PE) for design document preparation, schedules, and completion.
- Create piping specifications in CADWorx and develop drawing templates.
- Guide designers in creating 3D models and fabrication drawings, and conduct model review meetings.
- Review and verify documents prepared by designers and implement company standard practices.
- Attend client and project meetings, handle queries,



and coordinate with other discipline engineers.
- Follow and deploy QMS procedures, ASME U-stamp procedures, and OHSAS.

What We Are Looking For:

- Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience
- Technical Expertise: Experience in detail engineering of pressure vessels, storage tanks, packaged equipment design, and piping layout concepts. Familiarity with international codes and standards.
- Software Skills: Strong knowledge of Plant 3D software (CADWorx / PDMS or equivalent), 2D software (AutoCAD / Microstation or equivalent), and MS Office. SAP familiarity is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
