About Company The company is a healthcare technology firm focused on developing data-driven solutions for the life sciences and clinical research industry.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance Manager– FP&A; & Strategy, to own core FP&A; (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling, and investor/board reporting) while directly partnering with our Tech and RCM teams to build MIS trackers and dashboards out of raw operational data — patient engagement, account status, and cohort/retention tracking - not just standard finance reports.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Oversight and Management:
- Establish and maintain financial control standards across all teams.
- Lead corporate financial management activities, including P&L; analysis, cash flow management, forecasting, debt, and investment management.
- Conduct comprehensive financial risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop and refine financial models to benchmark performance and guide future decisions.
2. Audit and Quality Assurance:
- Manage and coordinate rigorous audit and quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
- Oversee the management of financial metadata, including customer retention, patient churn rate, and employee performance metrics.
3. Strategic Planning and Communication:
- Coordinate with RCM, Tech, Sales, Marketing and other teams.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and advice to support corporate decision-making by creating and using MIS dashboards.
- Effectively communicate financial insights and digital health business intricacies to stakeholders and investors.
4. Operational MIS & Data Partnership:
- Partner directly with Technology , RCM and other teams to translate raw, non-financial operational data (patient engagement logs, account status exports, EMR/CRM extracts) into structured MIS trackers and dashboards, building the tracker architecture from scratch, not just populating an existing template.
- Design and maintain cohort-style retention and engagement trackers (e.g., month-over-month decay of engaged patients/accounts by acquisition cohort), account-status pipelines (e.g., Engaged / UTR1-3 / Ready to Welcome / Pending Clinical Review), and related operational KPI views.
- Own the ongoing accuracy and structure of these trackers as source data formats and definitions evolve, working iteratively with Tech/RCM rather than waiting on a finalized data feed.
- Translate operational MIS findings into finance-relevant insight — linking patient/account engagement trends back to revenue, churn, and forecasting.
5. Revenue Cycle Management and Operations:
- Guide and direct medical billing processes and revenue cycle management activities.
- Collaborate with developers to enhance the functionality and efficiency of internal financial systems.
6. Reporting and Analysis:
- Deliver timely and accurate business reporting, financial metrics, and analysis.
- Monitor data trends, troubleshoot issues, and develop actionable plans to address financial challenges.
- Identify root causes of data discrepancies and implement corrective measures to ensure data integrity.
7. Process Optimization and Automation:
- Streamline financial processes and workflows to optimize key performance indicators.
- Lead efforts to automate financial reporting and business processes, driving efficiency and accuracy.
- Plan and monitor growth and expenditure rates to support strategic decision-making.
8. Collaboration and Innovation:
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation across internal and external teams.
- Engage with business leaders and cross-functional teams to align financial goals and priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial performance and operational effectiveness.
9. Investor Research & Mapping:
- Identify and evaluate potential investors (VCs, PEs, and strategic investors) aligned with B2B SaaS and healthcare technology.
- Build and maintain a structured investor database including investment thesis, ticket size, stage focus, and portfolio companies.
- Track comparable companies, market activity, and funding trends to inform fundraising strategy.
Skills
- Proven success in strategic financial planning, analysis, and decision-making in complex organizational environments.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting, analysis, modelling, and audit management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying trends, assessing risks, and developing innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems, with experience in system implementation and optimization.
- Strong leadership abilities, demonstrated by the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
- Adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic environments and effective management of competing priorities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of progressive financial management experience, including 2 years in a leadership role overseeing financial operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Qualified certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Experience with B2B product or product-services start-up preferred.
- Preferred experience in the healthcare or digital health industry.
