Pharmacist – Job Description 1. Verify prescriptions and dispense medicines accurately as prescribed by the doctor. 2. Provide patients with transparent instructions regarding dosage, frequency, usage, and storage of medicines. 3. Handle and maintain ophthalmic medicines, eye drops, ointments, injections, and related products properly. 4. Check medicine name, strength, batch number, expiry date, and quantity before dispensing. 5. Maintain proper pharmacy stock and follow FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) principles. 6. Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely purchase/reorder of medicines and pharmacy consumables. 7. Maintain accurate records of purchase, dispensing, stock, expiry, returns, and temperature monitoring. 8. Ensure proper storage, segregation, and disposal of expired, damaged, or recalled medicines. 9. Supply medicines and consumables to the Operation Theatre and other authorized hospital departments as required. 10. Follow hospital policies, medication-safety practices, infection-control procedures, and applicable pharmacy regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality.
