Role Description This is a remote internship role for a Node.js Backend Developer at Cemzo. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs that power Cemzo’s construction commerce platform.

Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing server-side logic in Node.js, integrating databases and third-party services, writing clean and testable code, and troubleshooting backend issues.



The role also involves collaborating with front-end developers to ensure smooth data exchange, participating in code reviews, and contributing to technical documentation. Interns will gain exposure to scalable backend architectures while working closely with experienced engineers in an agile environment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with exposure to Node.js and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in JavaScript for server-side development and ability to work with modern JavaScript tooling.
- Basic understanding of Front-End Development concepts and experience integrating backend services with front-end applications.
- Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux.js and their role in full-stack application workflows.
- Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL), API design principles, and version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to learn quickly, write clear and maintainable code, and collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of basic software testing practices and willingness to follow coding standards and documentation guidelines.
