Role Description The GST Associate role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The GST Associate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing GST returns, reconciling GST data with accounting records, and ensuring compliance with relevant GST laws and regulations.
Daily tasks include posting and reviewing journal entries related to GST, assisting in the preparation of financial statements with accurate tax treatment, and maintaining up-to-date records in accounting software. The role involves supporting audits and assessments,
performing analytical reviews of indirect tax positions, and preparing documentation and working papers for internal and external stakeholders. The GST Associate will collaborate with senior team members, respond to client queries on GST matters, and contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the firm.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Finance and Financial Statements, including an understanding of GST impact on financial reporting.
- Candidates should possess aptitude in Journal Entries (Accounting) and Accounting Software to accurately record and track GST-related transactions.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret tax data, identify discrepancies, and support reconciliations and compliance reviews.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of GST laws, rules, and compliance procedures, including return filing, input tax credit, and reconciliations.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; pursuing or holding professional qualifications (CA/CA Inter) is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to work with deadlines in a fast-paced professional services environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Prior experience or internships in taxation, GST, or accounting firms will be considered beneficial.
