Stealth Startup USA is Looking for:**** Company / Product We are a pre-launch consumer + B2B technology platform launching initially in Charlotte, North Carolina. The application is already substantially built and is currently going through final production hardening, testing, reliability, security, accessibility and launch certification.

This is NOT a greenfield MVP and we are NOT looking for someone to rebuild the application from scratch.

We need one exceptional long-term engineer who can deeply learn the existing system, protect what already works, safely continue development and progressively become the primary technical owner.

ROLE

Founding Technical Lead / Staff Full-Stack Engineer — Hands-On

This person will report directly to the founder and ultimately own the application technically end-to-end while continuing to personally write, debug, review and ship code.

Experience Level Ideally 3–5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

MOST IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT

The candidate must have personally owned a REAL LIVE PRODUCTION SaaS/web application end-to-end.

We want someone who has actually been responsible when a production application broke — not someone whose experience is limited to completing assigned tickets.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will progressively:

- Learn the existing application and architecture end-to-end before making major changes




- Personally write, debug, review and ship production code
- Own frontend, backend and database engineering
- Own PostgreSQL/Supabase data integrity and migrations
- Own authentication, authorization and application security
- Own deployments, releases and rollback
- Maintain strong staging-versus-production boundaries
- Own CI/CD and automated testing
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents
- Own monitoring, logging and alerts
- Maintain backup/recovery readiness
- Protect credentials, secrets and customer/company data
- Maintain browser, mobile, accessibility and performance quality
- Safely integrate third-party services
- Review AI-generated code for correctness and security
- Preserve established product/business rules
- Improve technical debt carefully rather than unnecessarily rewriting working systems
- Maintain technical and operational documentation
- Eventually help recruit and lead additional engineers as the company grows

AI-NATIVE ENGINEERING We use modern AI-assisted engineering extensively.

We specifically want someone who is very comfortable using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor or similar AI coding systems to dramatically increase engineering productivity.

However, the engineer — not the AI — remains responsible for architecture, correctness, security, testing and production behavior.

We do NOT want someone who simply prompts AI and accepts whatever code it generates.

A candidate whose immediate reaction to an unfamiliar existing system is “we should rewrite everything” is NOT a good fit.

WORK COMMITMENT

This is intended to be a FULL-TIME, LONG-TERM role and the candidate’s primary professional commitment.

Strong written and spoken English is required.

We need meaningful daily overlap with US Eastern Time, preferably approximately 3–4+ working hours.

We do not expect unhealthy overnight working hours, but communication and production coordination with the founder must be reliable.

Material outside employment, consulting businesses or competing commitments should be disclosed.





SECURITY The person will eventually have significant responsibility for proprietary software and production infrastructure.

They must be comfortable with:

- NDA/confidentiality agreements
- Intellectual-property/work-product assignment
- Individual accounts
- MFA
- Least-privilege permissions
- Audit logging
- Controlled/staged production access
- Secure credential handling

Full production authority will NOT be granted on Day 1. Access will expand progressively as technical competence and trust are demonstrated.

FIRST 90 DAYS

Days 1–30 — UNDERSTAND

Learn the architecture, repository, database, environments, authentication, product rules, testing, deployment, monitoring and recovery systems. Run the application and automated test suites and progressively explain the complete system back to the founder.

Days 30–60 — CO-OWN

Begin handling contained engineering work, bugs, code reviews, staging work, testing, deployment preparation, monitoring and production diagnosis under controlled permissions.

Days 60–90 — TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

Assuming demonstrated competence and trust, progressively assume responsibility for daily technical operation, releases, reliability, incidents, architecture decisions and future development.

The long-term goal is for this person to become the founder’s primary technical counterpart so the founder can increasingly focus on customers, venue partnerships, revenue and company growth.
