About the Role

We are looking for a Freelance Software Developer with knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support our Kolkata office with software development, application enhancement, AI-based solutions, process automation, and technical problem-solving.

The ideal candidate should be hands-on, adaptable, and capable of independently developing and implementing software solutions based on business requirements. The candidate should also have practical knowledge of integrating AI tools and APIs into business applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance web-based and business applications as per organizational requirements.
- Understand business requirements and convert them into practical technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy software applications.
- Integrate AI/ML tools, APIs, and services into existing or new applications.
- Develop AI-enabled solutions such as chatbots, automated response systems, document processing, data analysis, and workflow automation.
- Work with APIs such as OpenAI or other AI platforms and integrate them with business applications where appropriate.
- Develop automation solutions to reduce manual and repetitive business processes.
- Work with databases, backend systems, APIs, and third-party software integrations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.




- Maintain existing software applications and improve their performance, security, and usability.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data-driven applications where required.
- Ensure proper testing, documentation, version control, and deployment of developed solutions.
- Coordinate with management and internal teams to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations.
- Evaluate new AI technologies and software tools that can improve business efficiency.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of company data, applications, and source code.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, Java, or C#.
- Good understanding of web application development.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web development frameworks.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and third-party API integration.
- Practical knowledge of AI tools, Generative AI, LLMs, and AI APIs.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering and AI-assisted application development.
- Familiarity with automation tools and workflow integration.
- Knowledge of Git/GitHub or other version-control systems.
- Understanding of basic application security and data protection practices.

AI Skills – Preferred Candidates with experience in any of the following will be preferred:
- Generative AI / LLM-based application development
- OpenAI API or similar AI APIs




- AI chatbots and virtual assistants
- Prompt engineering
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- AI-powered document/data processing
- AI-based workflow automation
- Python-based AI applications
- Machine Learning fundamentals
- AI integration with CRM, ERP, websites, or internal business applications

Experience
- 2–5 years of software development experience preferred.
- Freelancers with solid project portfolios and relevant practical experience may also be considered.
- Candidates with proven experience in AI integration and automation will receive preference.

Compensation Freelance / Project-based remuneration, depending on experience, technical expertise, project scope, and engagement requirements.
